Emtera designs high-efficiency solid-state power amplifiers (SSPAs), block upconverters (BUCs), low-noise amplifiers (LNAs), and LNBs. SSPA designs from our team have been deployed in the thousands, and our co-founder invented the ultra-low-loss waveguide power-combining technology at the core of a commercial SSPA product line.
Efficiency is the design driver. In an SSPA, every point of efficiency comes back to the platform as a smaller heatsink, a lighter terminal, a smaller power supply, and higher reliability — which is why we treat efficiency as a first-class requirement rather than a datasheet afterthought. We work at the discrete level — down to custom amplifier semiconductors when the application demands it — rather than assembling catalog blocks.
Designed to your requirement
Most amplifier requirements don’t match a catalog part, and forcing a mismatched part into a system costs performance and schedule. We design to your specification across the axes that actually vary between programs:
- Frequency band and bandwidth
- Output power, linearity, and gain
- Interface — connectorized or waveguide
- Cooling approach and mechanical envelope
- Monitoring and control
- Environmental requirements
Finished, tested units
Our preference is to deliver the finished product, not just design files: assembled amplifiers, tested against your acceptance criteria, with measured performance data accompanying delivery. Qualification and screening are tailored to the program — burn-in, temperature cycling, and environmental testing as your mission requires.
